The Fort Worth Stock Yards have cattle run down the street, twice a day. This was one of my top 3 things I had to see on this trip. Due to some traffic from San Anotnio, we missed it by 10 minutes and I still today feel like I missed something awesome.
We parked here and you pay at a machine.
The Cattle Run is every day 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.in East Exchange Avenue.
From their website "The Old West comes to life before your eyes during the world's only twice-daily cattle drive presented by the Fort Worth Herd. Real Texas cowhands drive a herd of Texas longhorns down East Exchange Avenue in the Stockyards National Historic District every day at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. (check our Facebook page for updates during inclement weather). Every detail of the cattle drive—from the saddles and chaps to the boots and hats – is authentic and historically true.
We eneded up going anyway and my son got to sit on a Longhorn and I could take a picture. I think it was $5.
They do have Rodeos here so look into that too.
We walked around the shops there. The General Store was great for gifts and Fort Worth Items. We also shopped at Cavender's. They are high end, but they were very nice.
