The Atlanta Ballet Nutcracker December 4-29, 2021 (Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center)



As a little girl, I loved going to see the Nutcracker every year! This year they Atanta Ballet has moved it to the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center.)


The Nutcrakcer is 2hours and 20 mins this year and they will have NO booster seats for young children this year.

Doors open 90 minutes before the performance.


No outside food or beverage and no bags over 13X13X13.

The event is cashless.


Concessions will be sold but they said to check back about if you can eat inside the theater.

Covid Policy From their website:

Based on recommendations from public health experts and the CDC, Atlanta Ballet has implemented the following policies, effective December 1, 2021.

Please be advised that it is the responsibility of the ticket purchaser to communicate these policies to all guests or other ticket recipients.

Vaccination & Mask Policy

Proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test is required to attend Atlanta Ballet performances at Cobb Energy Centre.

Please refer to the specific requirements by age group as they differ:

  • Ages 4 and up must present proof of vaccination OR proof of a negative COVID test administered by an authorized healthcare professional taken within 72 hours of the performance, along with a photo ID (adults 18 and older).

  • Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult who meets the above requirements.

  • Masks are required at all times, regardless of vaccination status, except in designated areas where food and drinks may be enjoyed during intermission.

  • The Nutcracker is not recommended for children under 4.

Proof may be a physical copy or displayed on a smart phone. This will be a visual check only; Atlanta Ballet will not retain copies of vaccine cards or test reports.

All children, regardless of age, must have a ticket and be seated with their accompanying adult.

Masks will be required at all times regardless of vaccination status, except while consuming concessions in the lobby or other designated areas.


Prior to Your Visit

If you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days and/or been in contact with someone who has tested positive, are sick or showing symptoms, please stay home. Contact Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre at 770-916-2852 to obtain a refund or exchange your tickets for a different performance.

Share these COVID safety policies with all members of your party and/or anyone to whom you have given your tickets. As the ticket purchaser, it is your responsibility to make sure that all ticket holders are advised of these rules.

If you do not have proof of vaccination, you will need to obtain your COVID test 72 hours prior to your scheduled performance. A free resource in Atlanta for vaccinations or COVID testing is Viral Solutions.

In the case of performance cancellation due to inclement weather, you may exchange into a different performance or receive a full refund.

What to Expect When you Visit

When you arrive at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, all members of your party will first be asked to show a valid ID and proof of vaccination or a negative test.

You will next move through a security check, which includes magnetometers. If you have oversized bags or other prohibited items, security will ask that you return those to your car. You can find the full list of prohibited items here.

Ticket EntryMobile Tickets: Ticket takers will scan your ticket from your phone. Print At Home E-Tickets: Ticket takers will scan your ticket, which should be printed prior to arrival.

NO coat or baggage check. At this time, it is not safe to offer coat or baggage check. Please only bring purses or bags that are smaller than 8.5” x 11”.

Once through security check, ushers will scan your tickets and direct you to the correct portal to access your seats.

Arrive early! - The entrance process will take longer this year, so we suggest planning to arrive early. Cobb Energy Centre opens the doors to the lobby 90 minutes prior to curtain. Arrive early and enjoy shopping at the Atlanta Ballet Boutique or a selection of holiday themed concessions that can be enjoyed in the lobby or in our outdoor Winter Wonderland. Concessions will not be allowed in the house.

Cashless Transactions – Cash will not be accepted for concessions and Atlanta Ballet Boutique purchases.

Our staff are there to help. Atlanta Ballet staff will be available at all performances to assist in any way they can. If you have questions or feel uncomfortable at any time, please ask an usher to direct you to an Atlanta Ballet staff member who will assist you.
