Noon Years Eve around the ATL and tips for home celebrations

Updated: Dec 26, 2021

Before becoming a mother I would have had no clue what this it. Now that I am a mom, it is genius!

You get to celebrate New Years Eve with your children, the count down, the balloons the sparkling ....apple cider! Noon Years Eve is a celebration of the new year, just at noon so you get family time before you go out for the real New Years celebration at midnight.

We have attended most of these and loved all of them!

In this ever changing world please check with the venue to make sure this is the most current information as things can change last miunte.

Avalon (Alpharetta) (sold out for 2021)

This is a fun event and one you need to get tickets to when they first offer them as it sells out each year. When you enter you can see all the stations they have around the room,. there have been photo booths, DJ and dancing, craft stations., face painting, doughnut area, beverage area complete with candy in your drink (they do sell drinks for mom and dad too). They have a countdown at noon and a big balloon drop. This is a very fun way to ring in the new year with the kids. It is crowded so make sure you talk to your children about what to do if they get lost, but felt it was very safe. It is held inside the ballroom of the hotel.

We got there early each year, ate pizza and played games. Then got ready for the balloon drop at noon. They have it roped for 2 ages groups so the big kids don't know over the little's, but will say it can get crazy. You grab balloons and then pop them and they have prizes inside like a coupon for 5 tickets, coupon for prize etc.

They also give free kid champagne, aka apple cider. When we went in the past, you did not have to buy anything.

If you plan to stay home, here are some ideas:

1. Want to have a balloon drop at home? Order this to make it happen and just fill it with balloons you have. We have used these before. and it takes more balloon then you think!

2. We do a balloon pop every hour before he goes to bed. Inside is a coupon for something. Some examples are go to bed 15 mins later, skip a chore, the last one we always give him $5. Depending on his age is when the bedtime was. You can get these professional looking ones.

3. Netflix has a kid countdown too. Just search Countdown and they will pop up.
