Chestatee Wildlife Preserve and Zoo

Looking for a great place to social distance?

Chestatee Wildlife Preserve & Zoo is a great place to go!!

It is open 10-4.

12 and up is $15

11 and younger is $10

under 1 is free

Feed bags are $5 each, I suggest one per child if possible. They do caution animals can bite so be careful, we had no issues.

They have a huge parking lot.

Once you pay, you walk on your own and follow the arrows to go one way. It is always this way, not bc of coivd.

There are over 100 exotic and native animals here. They are rescued and sent here.

I would say it will take roughly an hour to go through.

They do have picnic tables and soda machines (closed during covid) but I encourage you to bring your own. We use a back pack cooler when we walk around. There is no where here to buy food.

I also suggest hand sanitizer and wipes for after feeding the animals.

They do have porta potties but due to covid no soap, towels, or soap.

There is a little playground here too.

No smoking at all allowed here or the parking lot!

We are social distancing and felt fine here.

There is another zoo, North Georgia Wildlife Park about 20 mins away. We have done both before in one day.

We went to Red Oak Lavender Farm about 3 mins away for a small serving of lavender chocolate or vanilla ice cream after. They are open April- Dec.

There are also a few wineries in the area you could stop to eat at.

Make sure to check back each Friday and Saturday when I post another Family Fun place around the ATL. Check us out on Facebook or Instagram
