Burts Pumpkin Farm

Updated: Aug 27, 2022

Opens Septmeber 1st for it's 50th year!!!

Burt’s Pumpkin Farm located at 5 Burts Farm Road, Dawsonville, Georgia 30354

Located about 35 mins North of Milton (about 10 mins from Amicolola Falls and about 15 mins from BJ and HIllcrest Apple Orchards) is Burt’s Pumpkin Farm.

There are not many gas stations or places to eat around here so please make sure you have gas in your car. Amicolola Falls has a hotel with a restaurant in it. We sometimes stop there for lunch or dinner. You will have to pay a fee for your car to enter the park. There is on the far side of the Burt's Farm parking lot a few picnic tables to eat at if you want to bring a picnic lunch.

When you arrive at Burt’s , and I suggest you go early in fall as they can get crowded, you will notice their large parking lot.

Go in the store and purchase your tickets for the hay ride. It is 2 miles and roughly a 20 min ride. Tickets are around $6 per person. 2 and under is free. I suggest you go and buy your tickets for the hay ride first as you may need to wait a while if crowded This way, you can get in line whenever you want for the hayride. If a long line you may want to have someone in your party stand in line while the rest of you walk around the pumpkin area.

There are plenty of pumpkins to go and look at as well as picture opportunities. They have wheel barrels everywhere for you to use for those 15 yrs and older, to move the pumpkins. They have from teeny tiny pumpkins $1 to large ones over $100 and all different kinds.

In the barn part are yummy jams, food, drinks and shirts. Make sure you check them out.

The fun part is the hay ride. You will see talking pumpkins and it is a decent size ride. Nothing was really scary was on the ride.

As always dress for the weather. It is usually a little cooler then Atlanta up here and you may need bug spray and sun screen depending on the day. You do sit on the ground of the wagon in hay so dress for that. Some of my favorite family pictures were on these hay rides so doesn’t be afraid to ask others to take your family picture.

If you go in late fall the drive up is very pretty with the fall Foliage on the trees.

We have gone here for over 12 years and

I think I can say, Burt’s won’t disappoint you!

As always check their Facebook page for updates and times.
