When I was a child, I dreamed of getting my first Cabbage Patch Doll. I remember my dad saying it was crazy trying to get one, grown adults in toy stores fighting over them. I finally got one and loved it like a real baby!
I could not wait to see where they were born!
We vistied the Babyland General Hosptial located at 300 N.O.K. Drive, Cleveland, Georgia 30528 Phone:706-865-2171
It is free to go and they require masks right now. When you first pull up you will see the big white house. After you park, there is plenty, walk in the front door. Admission is free and it is a self guided tour. You will see some of the originals and read some history about it.
You then have a few rooms to look in that look like nurseries.
You then go into a HUGE gift shop. There is everything your "baby" could need. They do have items for boys too!
By the Magic Crystal Tree, they will have a "birth" of a Cabbage Patch. No one could tell me when it was and I ended up sitting for 40 mins waiting to witness it. You might want one person in your group to keep an ear out for the announcement so you do not have to wait around for it. There are 2 benches here for those who need to sit and I felt the whole place was all handicapp/small stroller accessible.
A nurse comes out, and everyone watches as the baby is born. She then takes it to the nursery where it is checked out and named.
You can adopt dolls in an adoption room.
Then they go to the delivery room
They do have picnic tables in the back and on the right when you pull in, so bring a lunch if you want. They sold ice cream bars in the gift shop and saw a coke machine outside.
They have a Christmas tree room too!
Bathrooms will be on the right when you walk in the front door.
It does not take long to go through, I think it depends on when you get to see the birth and how long your kid takes to walk around the gift shop.
